| WGU Aspiring School Principals Scholarships |
 |
| Western Governors University is pleased to offer the WGU Aspiring School
Principals Scholarships. These scholarships are designed to help aspiring school principals attend college online to
move into the leadership position of principal.
Who Should Apply
About the Scholarship
A WGU Aspiring Principals Scholarship is valued up to $2,000. The scholarship will be credited to your account at the rate of $500 per six-month term, renewable each year for up to a maximum of four terms. You will be required to reapply for the scholarship each year for renewal.
Multiple scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship will be awarded based upon a candidate's academic record, readiness for online study, and current competency, plus other considerations. WGU's competency-based education approach makes it possible for students to accelerate their program, but the scholarship is based on a reasonable experience of two years to completion. The actual time to completion will depend on the incoming student's prior experience, academic background, and time commitment to study.

- Must submit official transcripts of all prior college work
- Complete an application
- Satisfactorily complete the WGU Readiness Assessment
- Be officially admitted to WGU
- Interview with a WGU Scholarship Counselor prior to the award decision.
NOTE: This scholarship program is designed for new students only.
If you are selected to receive the scholarship, you will be required to read the WGU Student Handbook and agree to and understand the tuition and refund policies. You will also be required to sign a WGU Scholarship Agreement before monies are awarded.
Tuition for a six-month term is $2,890, less the $500 per term scholarship. (There is an additional fee for the in-school practicum requirement.) To maintain your eligibility to receive the scholarship monies, you must maintain a 100% Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) rating through the duration of your degree program. You will also be required to reapply for the scholarship at the end of the second six-month term of each year for renewal. If you have maintained the required eligibility, your scholarship will be renewed.
Financial Aid is Also Available
Good news! Financial aid is also available. You may choose to pay for the remaining portion of your tuition through federal
financial aid (subject to your eligibility). Pell Grants, which do not have to be repaid, are granted based upon financial need. Federal
Direct Student Loans are available to most students. Subsidized loans, which are dependent on financial need, reduce the
interest due on loans. Learn more about financial aid.

"Opened doors…"
"WGU has opened doors for me that I would not have been able to access without an extreme inconvenience for my family, my career, and myself."

"On my own time…"
"I chose WGU because of the freedom of doing the work on my own time and at my own pace. In the past, I had started master's programs twice through regular universities and found the class schedules impossible to fit into my schedule."

"Speed their licensure…"
WGU Teachers College will be a boon to states seeking training for current teachers and paraprofessionals to help them meet the education requirements under the No Child Left Behind Act and speed their licensure."
