WGU NSLS E-Board Student Opportunities
Have you developed your leadership skills since becoming a member of NSLS? Would you like to share your experience and help fellow students in their leadership journey? Apply to become a member of our NSLS e-board, invites are sent out yearly. Keep an eye on your email for further information or reach out to the advisor team! Roles include:
- Facilitate NSLS monthly meetings
- Assist with the ideation and execution of chapter initiatives to enhance the member experience
- Engage in bi-weekly sessions with the National Office and Advisor(s)
- Welcome new members into the chapter and provide support when necessary
- Train new E-Board members to fulfill their duties appropriately
- Lead E-Board members towards completing chapter goals
- Work with Student President in leading the chapter enhancement initiatives
- Oversee Committee chairs & hold them accountable
- Engage in bi-weekly sessions with the National Office and Advisor(s)
- Attend bi-weekly E-Board meetings
- Schedule EBoard meetings
- Record minutes at EBoard meetings
- Send email reminders about upcoming events, such as awards and scholarships deadlines
- Create and manage budget for National Dues and local expenses
- Provide financial update and review in each EBoard meeting
- Work with chapter Chairs to assess needed funds to support chapter
- Monitor and track chapter funds; provide information on chapter funds to advisors for final decisions on spend
Oversees the facilitation and completion of SNTs for chapter; train and manage SNT facilitators (looking for multiple)
- Help facilitate first SNT meetings for all groups
- Create schedule for EBoard to assist at first SNT meetings
- Collect attendance from SNT groups after each meeting
- Send friendly email reminders to SNT group members that did not submit an SNT reflection (must be submitted online in the Members Area within 24 hours of each meeting)
- Oversee WGU NSLS online community
- Create and maintain content for chapter online community
- Oversee Induction Committee
- Responsible for overseeing planning and implementation of yearly WGU NSLS induction event/ceremony
- Recruit and oversee Membership Outreach Committee
- Review Member Outreach section of manual with Committee during first meeting
- Create an outreach timeline with Committee and call, email or Facebook members
- Host “Benefit Spotlights” and/or information sessions
- Monitor NSLS communities page (through NSLS directly)
- New member education/outreach role
- Creatively advertise the NSLS, as well as specific events hosted by the chapter
