WGU Dean and Academic Vice President for College of Health Professions to Speak at Annual Missouri Nursing Summit on June 6
Dr. Jan Jones-Schenk to join other nursing professionals across the state for this year’s “We’re Better Together: Bridging Generational Differences for Optimal Education and Care” summit
ST. LOUIS – WGU Missouri Dean and Academic Vice President for College of Health Professions Dr. Jan Jones-Schenk has been tapped to speak at this year’s annual Missouri Center for Nursing summit. The summit, which is sponsored by WGU Missouri, will take place June 5-6 at the Courtyard by Marriot in Columbia, Missouri.
In its ninth year, the 1.5-day event invites nursing professionals from across the state to share their passion for patients and the profession and learn about the latest trends in the nursing industry. The theme of this year’s summit is “We’re Better Together: Bridging Generational Differences for Optimal Education and Care”. Sessions throughout the summit will include information about boundaries and balancing generational differences, as well as how to become and identify an emerging leader in the field.
Jones-Schenk is a past president of the American Nurses Credentialing Center Board of Directors and served eight years on the American Nurses Association Board of Directors. She has also served nine years as a Trustee for Park City Medical Center in Park City, Utah. Jones-Schenk holds a master’s degree in nursing administration, is a Board-Certified Nurse Administrator and has a Doctorate in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Global Health. In 2015, she received the U.S. Distance Learning Association’s Award for Outstanding Leadership by an Individual in the Field of Distance Learning, and in 2017, she was a recipient of the Online Learning Consortium Digital Innovation Learning Award and prize.
