WGU Texas, Blinn College District Sign Agreement to Make Higher Education More Accessible
Partnership streamlines process for students, employees and graduates to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees
BRYAN – WGU Texas and the Blinn College District announced today the signing of an agreement that creates pathways for students, employees and graduates to work toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree and further their education at WGU Texas.
“The Blinn College District is proud to partner with WGU Texas to provide students an affordable pathway to higher education,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, Chancellor of the Blinn College District. “This transfer agreement is a perfect example of the way in which four-year universities and two-year colleges can partner to create seamless degree pathways for today’s high-achieving students.”
Blinn College District graduates, faculty and staff will receive a 5 percent discounted tuition at WGU Texas, exclusive partner scholarships, valued at up to $2,000, and can select from more than 60 accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in information technology, business, health professions and teaching. Students transferring from Blinn College can expect a comprehensive transfer policy. WGU Texas’ current enrollment is more than 12,300 students, Johnson said. He added that they have students enrolled in 233 of the state’s 254 counties, including those served by Blinn College.
