SALT LAKE CITY, AUGUST 27,2024 – The School of Business at Western Governors University is helping address a critical job market need by offering a new Accounting Fundamentals Certificate.  

Staff-level accounting and bookkeeping positions are expected to increase by 183,000 annually over the next decade, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Additionally, as advancements in software and accounting-related technologies increase, administrative roles are rapidly evolving into those that require higher levels of technical skill in both accounting and accounting software tools, such as Quickbooks.

To meet these business challenges, the WGU School of Business has launched a certificate program that prepares graduates for non-licensed positions such as bookkeepers, payroll administrators, credit managers, accounts receivables or payables specialists and more.
