Eligible KFC Restaurant Employees Qualify for Degrees With Little to No Out of Pocket Cost through WGU*
WGU and the KFC Foundation, have partnered to make higher education even more accessible for KFC restaurant employees. Here’s what you should know:
- Tuition and required fees are 100% covered for eligible KFC restaurant employees enrolled in any WGU degree program.
- KFC restaurant employees are responsible for purchasing a web cam, internet access and computer access.
- For applicants who can demonstrate financial need, the Online Access Scholarship covers the cost of home internet plus installation and provides a refurbished laptop with webcam.
*Costs for WGU tuition and learning resource fees billed by the University will be covered by federal financial aid (if applicable) Tuition assistance (for eligible restaurant employees), WGU tuition discounts and WGU scholarships.

Based on your past educational experience, you may be a candidate for WGU Academy to start. WGU Academy is an alternative launching pad for eventual success at WGU. By completing the appropriate program at WGU Academy and providing proof of high school or equivalent completion, you will be guaranteed admission to WGU with fully transferable courses. Just as important, the Academy program is designed to strengthen your confidence, develop your learning skills, and establish a foundation for you to thrive and graduate from WGU.

- After enrolling in WGU, being approved for FASFA and utilizing other scholarship opportunities, the KFC Foundation will cover the remaining cost of tuition and fees—on average $2,650 per six-month term—to make the cost $0 for KFC restaurant employees. *
- The cost to attend WGU Academy is covered 100% by KFC tuition assistance. Academy is an optional series of courses that prepares students with little to no college experience for their bachelor’s programs.
- The Online Access Scholarship provides free internet access, a laptop, and a webcam to those who meet the eligibility requirements.
*To be eligible for 100% tuition coverage at WGU, you must work at a KFC restaurant participating in the KFC Foundation’s Annual Franchise Donation Program.
